Team Penning

We began to compete seriously at the USTPA level and were struggling. We went from being the top of the heap locally to being the bottom of the heap nationally! The competition and horses were totally a different level than what we were used to in Maine! Chris kept showing me a little mare he called "Snake" and was using as his open horse. He kept telling me she was meant for me, and I kept telling him I didn't need another horse. Besides, she scared me the way Chris could make her go, stop and turn!! Frank finally bought her the end of the season for "his" horse. THEN, he suggested I try her at the first penning that next spring. That was the last time he rode her, as she quickly became "MINE!" With Chris' assistance, Frank found the perfect horse, Joys Hickory, and they had a great year together. We decided to breed Joy, and Chris came through, once again, with the perfect horse: "Tink"

Many Thanks to the Horses who started us Penning and Sorting

When Missy Q mysteriously went lame after the 2005 WFQHA World Show, Linda contacted her trainer and mentor, Robin Stang, for a new penning horse. Enter Rawhaida Pep, an own son of NCHA world cutting champion "Haidas Little Pep". Rawhaida has proven to be a real challenge for Linda, as he can (and has) literally move out from underneath her while working a cow! They are doing very well as a team, and have won world and reserve world championships in team penning and team sorting with the WFQHA, as well as many championships locally.
